The Truth About Money!

Judge Andrew Nepolitano lays out the truth about our money better than most, and breaks through the veil that clouds how money is created in America…. Out of nothing…
Section 8, Article 1 of the US Constitution, “Congress shall have the Power to … coin money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin”.
Isn’t it interesting that they don’t say print money? The printing of money took place well before the creation of the United States of America. As a matter of fact many of the colonies printed money, and printed, and printed, and printed … sound familiar???
The founding fathers knew that you could take paper, print a picture on it and set a value to it… But they also knew that once that took place you could keep right on doing that. At the same time they knew that if you took something that had actual intrinsic value, like gold and silver, and minted it, the ability to make an uncountable number of them would not be possible.
That is why the Constitution says to coin money and not print it, not because of a technological or intelligence barrier, but because of an experience barrier. They knew from history both far in the past and as recent as their own yesterdays what it meant to have the ability to print as much money as government wanted, and they knew that the printing press would be a sure way to destroy the very republic that they had created, if money started to be made that way.
It seems to be a lesson that we ourselves are now on a path to relearn again … If we had only read what they wrote, rather than imagined what we wanted them to say, maybe we could avoid the very future that waits us…
