When a majority of people don’t want something…

Even though a majority of people in this country were opposed to the passage of the Health Care bill, those in congress that thought the voters were no more than little children that didn’t know what was in their own best interest, pushed ahead and forced the bill, that will run up deficits for decades to come, on all of us.

They continually have told us that once it passed we would be happy about it, that we would thank them for it, but as multiple polls have shown, and as many in the Tea Party predicted, nothing has grown larger than the resentment toward those that said they knew better than the electorate.

With that comes back to back polls that show that just as 63% of voters want to now repeal the health care bill, only 44% think that President Obama is doing a good job.

The following chart shows the percentage of voters that want to repeal the Health Care Bill that the congress push through, the President signed, and the Tea Party stood firmly against along with a majority of this nations voters:

Along with that the following graph shows the Presidents approval versus his disapproval ratings. It’s interesting to note that since this bill was forced on the American people in March, the Presidents approval has been in a very steep downward track.

I think if the President were to be honest with the American people, let them know that although he truly does believe that this bill is the right thing for America (in his eyes), but that the process by which it was gotten was wrong, and the cost is something that our country can not afford, and that he is going to push to rescind this bill, I think his poll numbers would shoot up.

He would not only show to the voters that he actually is listening, and is not attempting to be a dictator or a paternal overseer, but is actually just trying to lead. In the end he would also set up a situation in which both sides could come together and create real health care reform, in true bi-partisanship. Which could include not only low cost health coverage for those that need it, but also tort reform, cross state competition, keeping the industry competitive by keeping it in the free market, and not saddling the tax payers with unsustainable debts.

Unfortunately, I know that this will not happen, and thus the Tea Party will continue to grow, while the president, his congressional supporters, and his agenda will continue to fall out of favor with the voters.
