Can the government do whatever it wants in your life?

At a recent town hall, when he was faced by a very articulate lady that questioned him on why he thinks the recently passed health care bill, often referred to as ObamaCare is constitutional, when the constitution itself actually enumerates what the federal powers are, and that all other powers are reserved to the states and the people respectively (this is the 10th amendment). Congressman Starks’ only response is that the government can do whatever it wants.
It’s politicians like this that have caused our country to slip father and father away from its foundation of personal freedom, and that have made the Tea Party movement even more necessary today than ever before.
