Tea Party Supporters, The True Silent Majority

There is a very interesting new poll from Pulse Opinion Research and PJTV, which can be seen here, that has come out showing just how far the Tea Party has reached into the American contentiousness. It has some interesting numbers that even shocked those of us in the movement directly.

One of the most interesting numbers that I found in the poll is that 54% of Americans actually support the Tea Party movement, and of those 66% have never actually been to a Tea Party, nor do they know anyone in the movement themselves.

Of the 54% that do support the Tea Party movement, I think the most shocking finding was that 52% of them only do so privately, while 36% do publicly.

I wonder if this comes from the fact that they may be afraid to openly support the Tea Party because they feel, as many conservatives did before the Tea Party movement began, that they are alone in their beliefs and support for the movement.

As a majority of the main stream media, both on TV and in print continue to attack the Tea Party and the conservative movement in general, I find it interesting that all they have really done is stop people from being open about their support for the movement.

Some support for this conclusion comes from the poll itself, in the fact that overall 55% of people think that charges of racism against the Tea Party are politically motivated and another 24% are not sure. This even though many media outlets since the beginning of the Tea Party have continued to try and convince Americans that the only reason anyone could question the current administration is due to racism.

I believe that Tea Party supporters should be open about their support and not be afraid of being in the minority, because as this and many other polls have shown we are actually winning over the American contentiousness and the main stream media knows it.

This is why we will also see even more attacks launched against the movement as we get closer to the elections. But, do not despair my fellow Tea Party members and supporters, not only are you not alone, you are actually in the majority, even among those that remain silent.
