Is the Occupy Wall Street Crowd like the Tea Party?

By admin | October 13, 2011

Not in the least bit. This video discusses that instead of being those that are willing to do the work, and simply want to keep more of what they have made, the Occupy Wall Street folks are those that have never had to work for anything…

They just want to demand that they get the rewards, without any of the work…

Disagree. The Occupy’ers want the top 1% to pay their fair share. It is all about being an American–we who can pay our share for the good of the Country.
I believe the tea party has it all wrong. You should have been the “shay’s rebellion” party. I am not overtaxed (middle-class). But Mitt is waaayyy under taxed. And for the 1% to hide money overseas to avoid paying their fair share (like Mitt) I feel is treasonous. To me the occupy’iers look, sound, and smell exactly like the baby boomers of the 60′s and 70′s. Oh how we so quickly forget our personal past………In fact, I would suspect the tea party should be in full support of the occupy’ers for one reason only: The right as an American to protest. Yet the Occupy folks are being beat, tortured, and attacked by the piloce for practicing their rights. bWhere are the tea partiers??
Another point: The Patriot act—I hear no tea party folks rail against this, and quite the opposite. The tea party SUPPORTS politicians who love the Patriot Act. Think about it.

So, those that are paying 50% of the taxes in America (the “rich”) are not paying enough? Please explain that to me, with facts as given by actual US tax data how that is not fair. Because I certainly can back up my position with facts, rather than just how I feel.

Next, explain to me how pooping on police cars, or stopping people from having access to public spaces for months on end is protesting for anything worthwhile…

Camping out on other peoples property, or on public property and therefore not allowing others to utilize that property is not protesting, it is trespassing.

In my time with the Tea Party we have made sure to attain every permit the government required, every bit of insurance the government required, and every bit of security the government required, i.e. off duty police officers that we were required to get. We also rented every venue we have used.

On the other hand in our city, the City Council put out a document that waived all permits, insurance, and security requirements for the Occupy protesters.

So, what would the two groups have in common?

One believes that the government is overbearing and taking too much from everyone (rich, poor, and middle class), yet follows all of the rules that are set before them. The other believes that everything should be taken from others and given to them by the government, and that the government should do more for them, yet willfully and blatantly breaks every rule set before them by the very government they rally to say should control so much more of our lives…

    Seriously… I don’t know where to go from there…
